The Amon G. Carter Equestrian Center is the very first high school program to carry the name of Chris Cox, a four-time, undefeated world champion in horsemanship. Chris is known for a deep commitment to training young people to develop strong character as they master key equestrian skills.
Our horse instructor was trained directly under Chris, and today he uses his methods to teach eager students to communicate effectively in ways a horse understands and respects. They learn important skills such as proper handling, tacking, and basic to advanced riding techniques. Students also learn problem-solving skills, social skills, communication, and teamwork.
Chris and his team will be involved as mentors through clinics and camps, giving our kids the chance to learn from the best in the world. We can’t begin to describe the excitement that flows through Happy Hill Farm about the addition of this Horsemanship Program!
But the best moment? The moment Happy Hill Farm students will never forget? It’s the moment when they sit astride a powerful horse, confidently riding across the grounds with the wind in their hair and the world flying by. It’s that moment of sheer joy and freedom.
Will you help us give these children the chance to learn horsemanship, develop character, and reap the rewards of their hard work? If you are interested in supporting the new Chris Cox Horsemanship Program —and helping Happy Hill Farm students develop strong character—please consider a generous gift today. And thank you!
