Summer is a special time here at Happy Hill Farm. While students get a break from traditional classes and some return home to their families, we have a great group that sticks around. So, what do we do all day if we aren’t in “school”? We continue the learning—teaching kids life skills to help them grow into well-rounded adults.
Over the summer, many students enroll in our academic enrichment programs like SAT/ACT preparation to get ready for college. Others work on their English as a Second Language courses to assimilate to life in the United States. Our kids also sign up for sports camps, culinary classes, horsemanship training, and other activities that focus on teaching confidence, teamwork, and responsibility.
One of our students loves spending his summers at Happy Hill Farm. Remembering last year, he said, “Summer was great! I took horsemanship, and I loved it! I also got to read a lot of new books in the library. I am happy to be back for this summer, too!”
Another student shares, “I thought it was going to be boring, but it was a good experience. I got to spend a lot more time with the friends I have at school. Thank you, donors, for the opportunity to be here during summer and for being able to learn more and continue to bond with my friends.”
