In 2013, Bob and Carol Cook were proud grandparents—looking forward to the college graduation of their granddaughter, Sara. However, six months before she was set to receive her degree, she died in a tragic car accident.
Left with broken hearts and an empty space where their vibrant granddaughter used to be, Bob and Carol decided to honor Sara’s life through a scholarship to help bright kids like her pursue their passions.
Bob and Carol said, “To keep the memory of our granddaughter in our hearts always, we chose to honor Sara by creating a memorial scholarship at North Central Texas Academy. Each year, it’s awarded to a deserving student bound for college. We have come to Happy Hill Farm to meet each student who has earned Sara’s scholarship. This has allowed us to see the dream in a young student’s eyes—a moving and rewarding experience for us.”
This year’s scholarship was awarded to Iva J. She will be attending Bethel College in Kansas and majoring in sports management this fall. We’re honored to be part of Sara’s legacy and proud of the children who use this gift in her honor to change the world around them.
