Choir
The choir at Happy Hill Farm Academy serves in a very public and prominent role for the Academy. They travel throughout Texas. Because of this, students involved in the choir must strive for excellence in academics, behavior, and in the pursuit of making fine art through choral music. The goal of the choir is to broaden the musical perspective of the students involved, to teach them the value of excellence in music, and to develop their voices in a safe and healthy manner. The choir is open to junior high and high school students.

Elementary Music
The elementary music program at Happy Hill Farm Academy is for students in grades K-6. Through the 5th grade, broad musical concepts are taught in order to give the students basic musicianship skills. The 6th grade program takes a decidedly stronger approach toward preparing students for elective classes through junior high and high school in individual and group instrument instruction.

Music Appreciation
Designed for students in the 7th and 8th grades, the Music Appreciation class covers a broad survey of the basics of music making and music history. The basic periods of music history are presented with the goal of students being able to identify music from each significant period. Critical listening skills and the ability to articulate musical terms (with verbal and written abilities) are developed throughout the class. In addition, Music Appreciation is a hands-on class designed to introduce students to the world of music and musical instruments in a class format.

Applied Music
Applied music is a survey class designed to enhance private music lessons that a student may take at the Academy or off-campus. The primary goal of Applied Music is to provide an environment for students to grow in their musicianship. It consists of group learning and private application of instrument study. The Applied Music class can be tailored to fit each stage of development for any student taking private music lessons.

Private Lessons
Private lessons are available to students who show the propensity to learn an instrument on an individual basis. Lessons are available on-campus or off-campus, depending on the instrument desired. Some instruments may be taught in a class environment for beginners, moving toward a more specialized environment as students grow in their ability.

Musical Theater
The Happy Hill Farm Academy Musical Theater Department is an open drama course. Combining skills in four disciplines (acting, singing, dancing, and stagecraft), students have an opportunity to showcase their talents and discover new ones. This course will familiarize students with the tools needed to build key musical theater arts skills. Students will receive instruction in the history of theater and musical theater, classic acting training exercises, production techniques, basic dance, basic voice, and theater conventions. Students will also demonstrate their abilities in these skills through integrative performances, group projects, monologues, and acting training activities.
