Greetings, and welcome to Happy Hill Farm Academy, also known as The Hill. It is an honor and privilege to serve as the Principal of an educational establishment that, for almost 40 years, has nurtured students of average to exceptional ability, who have been lead to demonstrate Godly character and a willingness to work and participate in an atmosphere of Christian values and beliefs. The Academy at The Hill offers a rigorous, academic college-preparatory program rooted in, and shaped by, a Christian worldview. The curriculum at the high school level adheres to the admission requirements for entry into major, four-year universities. The opportunities that are offered create an active and vibrant campus life, featuring advanced placement and honors academic courses, weekly chapel, educational field trips, a superior fine arts program, challenging sport programs (TAPPS member), and an extensive agricultural science curriculum and program. Each area of study and extracurricular activity provide our students with real life opportunities and encourage them in the areas of skill and character development, as well as moral judgment that will increase their potential for success in the business and professional world. As students participate in a wide variety of opportunities, it is our goal to assist them in recognizing their gifts and talents and lead and direct them into areas that will challenge and grow these gifts. Academy goals include preparing each student for college entry, by arming them with the necessary skills and abilities to succeed as they pursue their college and career goals.
The Academy student body is one of true diversity . . . with students from all walks of life comprising the student population. Boundaries are far-reaching, as doors are opened to students from various backgrounds, including international students from different regions of the world. Unique to the campus is the ability to provide equal opportunities to both boarding school students and regular day school attendees. The goal of Happy Hill Farm Academy has always been to reach out to individuals who have a desire to challenge and improve themselves academically, socially, spiritually, and emotionally. The Academy also wants to provide an environment that is representative of our global population, in order to create an understanding within the student body how our responsibility to spread God’s word is global, and everyone’s mission for the gospel should be to spread the word to the four corners of the world.
At The Hill, our vision is to be the standard of excellence in Christ-centered, college-preparatory education. The Academy is an independent, college-preparatory school that exists to challenge boys and girls, and young men and women, to know Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. There is an expectation for excellence that extends to all students . . . grades Kindergarten through 12th. The excellent academic program, beginning in both the Elementary and Middle Schools, provides a foundation for lifelong learning in a nurturing environment. A strong academic curriculum is offered in the core subjects: reading, mathematics, science, history, and Bible. Specialty programs exist throughout every grade level in music, physical education, Spanish, art, computer, horticulture, and agricultural sciences to create a well-rounded education and give students exposure to various areas of interests. Educational field trips and assemblies, reading incentive programs, band, choir, and sports activities offer enrichment opportunities. As the Academy continues to strive for excellence, this high standard must begin with the faculty and staff. Each teacher in the Academy possesses, at a minimum, a college degree, as well as full certification as a teacher. The Academy’s goal is to provide a quality education through appropriate and challenging curriculum materials. Well-trained teachers are provided with exceptional facilities that are state of the art and pristinely maintained. The Academy’s desire is for every student to achieve excellence, and by modeling such, it promotes an environment that allows students to thrive. In such a setting, Academy students are well cared for, guided by teachers, and assigned to a guidance counselor who will assist them in discovering their interests and ensuring they are on track to graduate and pursue their college and career dreams.
